May 7, 2024

NORTH BAY – Vic Fedeli, MPP for Nipissing announced that the Ontario government is investing $110,000 through the Experience Ontario 2024 program to support two festivals and events in Nipissing.

“The Experience Ontario 2024 investment will attract visitors to Mattawa and North Bay and increase our local economy,” said MPP Vic Fedeli. “Our government is encouraging Ontarians to explore all that these local communities have to offer by extending stays in accommodation, eating in restaurants and supporting small businesses.”

Local investments include:

  •  $55,000 for Les Compagnons for the 62nd Carnaval des Compagnons in February 2025.
  •  $55,000 for Mattawa for the 25th Mattawa Voyageur Days in July 2024.

“The Voyageur Days 25th anniversary team has been hard at work planning and ensuring that this year’s festival is safe and enjoyable for all. The festival attracts tourists from across the province to Mattawa. Free daytime activities for young and old to enjoy and a Canadian music line-up for the evenings make Voyageur Days an awesome experience!” – Raymond Belanger, Mayor, Mattawa.

“Les Compagnons des francs loisirs are happy and grateful for the support of the provincial government towards its Carnival’s activities.
