$2.5 Million from Ontario for Local Manufacturing Businesses

North Bay – Today, Vic Fedeli, MPP for Nipissing announced an investment of $2.5 million to four local businesses through the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC).

“Our government is committed to strengthening the manufacturing industry in the District of Nipissing” said Vic Fedeli, MPP for Nipissing. “Supporting the manufacturing industry is an important part of our government’s plan to create more jobs and attract new investments, so northern communities can grow and prosper.”

Investments include:

• $978,000 for Canadore College’s ICAMP 3.0, for the purchase and installation of equipment

• $650,654 for Nordic Minesteel Technologies Inc. to design and build a prototype battery powered Atlas Jack for large mining maintenance & Titan 220, the development of an innovative battery powered jack to assist with heavy truck repair

• $500,000 for Drillco Mining and Exploration for the commercialization of innovative clean-tech modular drilling systems

• $374,035 for Boart Longyear Manufacturing Canada Ltd, for a Wireline Production Automation Project

The NOHFC promotes economic development across Northern Ontario by providing financial assistance to projects – big and small, rural and urban – that stimulate growth, job creation and skilled workforce development.
