Ontario Provides Increased Local Court Security Funding
January 20, 2020NORTH BAY – Local court security and prisoner transportation services are receiving support from the Ontario government, Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli announced today.
The City of North Bay is receiving $664,148.78 through the Ministry of Solicitor General’s Court Security and Prisoner Transportation Grant, an increase of more than $34,000 from last year’s allocation.
“The government is building Ontario together by demonstrating its commitment to working with municipal partners to support court security,” said Fedeli.
“Public safety is a top priority and we are committed to providing our front-line police and their municipal partners with the tools and resources they need to protect our communities.”
In all, the Court Security and Prisoner Transportation Grant provides $125 million in funding to support municipalities across the province.
