New Casino Deal Prompts New Questions: Fedeli

December 19, 2017

QUEEN’S PARK –  The Wynne government is thumbing its nose at ongoing investigations in two provinces with the awarding of a lucrative casino contract today, charged Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli.

Just a week after reports that Ontario’s gambling regulator is probing allegations of money laundering at its British Columbia flagship operation, Great Canadian Gaming has been awarded a second Ontario casino deal by the government.

“The question we all want answered here is why they remain steadfast in forging ahead with these controversial deals,” said Fedeli.

“This is a government that continuously puts the best interests of their insider friends ahead of the people of Ontario.”

The Premier’s controversial casino deals simply don’t pass the smell test, added Fedeli.

“The integrity of Ontario’s gaming industry is at risk. When we asked for the first deal to be halted, the government responded by awarding a further casino deal. All these deals need to be halted until the investigations are complete.”
