RENEW YOUR LICENCE PLATE IN ADVANCE OF FEE HIKES: FEDELI

August 25, 2016

NORTH BAY – Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli suggests people renew their vehicle licence plate stickers early in advance of an upcoming fee hike.

The cost of licence plate sticker in Northern Ontario is due to go up on September 1st, 2016 to $60, from the present cost of $54. You are able to renew a licence plate sticker through ServiceOntario up to 180 days prior to the sticker’s expiry date.

“This increase is more than 10 per cent, and well over the cost of inflation. In fact, since 2012 the cost for Northern Ontarians to renew their licence plate stickers has increased over 60 per cent,” said Fedeli.

“We know ‘service fee’ is just another name for a ‘tax.’ Rather than making life more affordable for Ontario families, students, and seniors, the Wynne government seems obsessed with finding new revenue to pay for years of waste, mismanagement, and scandal,” concluded Fedeli.
