DEADLINE FOR SPRING BEAR HUNT COMMENTS

November 18, 2015

QUEEN’S PARK – The deadline for public comments on the government’s proposal to extend the spring bear hunt another five years is fast approaching, Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli said today.

Ontarians have until November 30 to provide comment on the proposal on the government’s website at the following link:

“Communities in Nipissing are continuing to struggle with the problem of nuisance bears, which tie up police resources and personnel, costing local taxpayers significant dollars,” said Fedeli, who noted the City of North Bay and Township of Chisholm passed resolutions this summer asking that the annual spring bear hunt be reinstated permanently.

“Northerners know what the solution to this problem is.  It’s time for the government to listen.”
