NORTH BAY – New equipment is coming for the Township of Nipissing Fitness Centre
through funding from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli
announced today.

In a ceremony at the Centre this morning, Fedeli announced a total of $15,000.00 over
12 months to install a four-station multi-gym system at the Fitness Centre.

The funds will also be used to purchase two indoor cycles, a seated elliptical trainer, a
summit trainer, free weights, a punching bag and stand, rubber floor mats and accessory

It’s hoped the new equipment encourage more people to engage in a healthy lifestyle.

The Fitness Centre has grown over the last seven years from six people to a revolving
membership of 150, with hopes of that number reaching 200 with this new investment.

“The Fitness Centre has had tremendous success in helping get people in the
community more active. I extend my congratulations to the community for its
commitment to the Centre, and am encouraged to see how this investment has led to
more of our residents leading more healthy lifestyles,” said Fedeli.
