Over $400,000 to Support NBRHC Diagnostic Services
February 12, 2026NORTH BAY — Vic Fedeli, MPP for Nipissing announced that the Ontario government is investing $487,000 to support additional CT Scan hours at the North Bay Regional Health Centre. This funding will allow the NBRHC to reduce wait times and ensure patients receive timely, high-quality care close to home.
“Our government continues to take action to expand and modernize Ontario’s hospitals, making it faster and easier for people of all ages to connect to the exceptional care they need, where and when they need it,” said MPP Vic Fedeli. “This investment will enable the North Bay Regional Health Centre to continue to meet the diagnostic service needs of patients and their families in Nipissing.”
“We welcome this investment from the province to allow us to improve access to this important diagnostic service. As our communities grow and demands for hospital services increase, additional CT hours means we can reduce wait times and better serve the health care needs of our patients.” – Paul Heinrich, NBRHC President & CEO.
Ontario has a three-pillar plan to deliver connected and convenient care to patients and their families. These pillars include the Right Care in the Right Place, Faster Access to Care, and Hiring More Health Care Workers. These three pillars are designed to work together, and work for families across the province. Delivering more care in the community frees up more space in hospitals and doctors’ offices, while hiring more health care workers ensures you can get the care you need sooner, and in ways that are more convenient for you.
Connecting these pillars to each other and to patient care will create a better experience for families in need of care. This includes shorter wait times for common but vital surgeries such as cataracts and hip and knee replacements, and shorter wait times for diagnostic services such as MRI and CT scans.
