Over $900,000 to Support Emergency Departments
June 10, 2025NORTH BAY – Vic Fedeli, MPP for Nipissing, announced that the Ontario government is investing over $900,000 to support two hospital emergency departments in Nipissing through the Emergency Department Pay-for-Results Program (EDP4R) for the 2025-26 year. Provincial funding supports both high-volume and low-volume emergency departments in increasing front-line services, maintaining program stability, and enhancing services for people of all ages seeking emergency care.
“Our emergency departments and health-care professionals work tirelessly to attend to the needs of patients in our community,” said MPP Vic Fedeli. “The Ontario government continues to invest in our local hospitals, so they can reduce emergency room wait times and deliver care close to home.”
Local funding is as follows:
- $814,400 for the North Bay Regional Health Centre
- $100,000 for the Mattawa Hospital
