$50,000 to Support Francophone Services in Nipissing
August 27, 2026NIPISSING — Vic Fedeli, MPP for Nipissing announced that the Ontario government is investing $50,000 in Les Compagnons des Francs Loisirs through the Francophone Community Grants Program (FCGP). This funding will help develop a dedicated workspace for Francophone small businesses and organizations of all ages in Nipissing.
“The Francophone Community Grants Program is part of the government’s plan to protect Francophone communities across the province by strengthening their economic, social, and cultural vitality,” said MPP Vic Fedeli. “This investment will help to expand French language services, create economic opportunities, strengthen collaboration, and increase the visibility of Francophonie in Nipissing.”
“The Franco-Ontarian support program is an important lever for cultural development and for ensuring lasting community impact through strong, accessible and inclusive French-language services and the funding it provides to Les Compagnons is a much needed investment. An investment that goes beyond our organization—it creates meaningful benefits for the communities we serve. It helps increase opportunities for artistic creation, cultural participation and access to French-language programming, while strengthening the visibility and vitality of the Francophone community across the Nipissing District.” – Yaye Peukassa, Executive Director of Les Compagnons des Francs Loisirs.
The FCGP plays a central role in strengthening the development of the Franco-Ontarian community by supporting non-profit organizations, social enterprises, and businesses that deliver French-language services or serve Francophone markets. The FCGP supports projects that aim to strengthen the capacity of organizations and/or businesses to provide products and services to Francophones in the province, promote the recruitment and/or training of bilingual Francophone staff, and provide opportunities to celebrate and foster understanding of Ontario’s Francophonie.
The program has two funding streams, the Community and Culture stream and the Economic Development stream. To learn more about each stream and how to apply, please visit Francophone Community Grants Program | ontario.ca.
