Applications Open for Sport and Recreation Infrastructure Funding
August 18, 2026NIPISSING — Vic Fedeli, MPP for Nipissing announced that the Ontario government has opened applications for the next round of the Community Sport and Recreation Infrastructure Fund (CSRIF). The province’s historic $500 million investment through the CSRIF supports critical repairs, modernizes aging facilities, and helps build new, state-of-the-art sport and recreation infrastructure across Ontario.
“Our government is investing in critical infrastructure to protect and build Ontario communities today and for the future,” said MPP Vic Fedeli. “This funding will create more good-paying jobs, supporting our growing population and strengthening local economies by helping communities unlock the benefits of sport tourism in Nipissing.”
The CSRIF is a cost-share program open to municipalities, Indigenous communities and organizations, non-profit organizations, and (for new builds only) for-profit organizations.
This intake will provide $100 million in funding and is expected to be highly competitive. Applicants are encouraged to submit early to avoid potential technical issues and to consult with their local Regional Development Advisor to discuss eligibility and opportunities to improve a funding application.
A webinar will be held on August 26, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. where prospective applicants can learn more about the fund and application process. Applicants are encouraged to register for the webinar at www.ontario.ca/communitysportfund.
