Over $740,000 to Support the Critical Minerals Supply Chain in Nipissing

June 25, 2026

NIPISSING — Vic Fedeli, MPP for Nipissing announced that the Ontario government is investing over $740,000 to support two projects in Nipissing through the Critical Minerals Innovation Fund (CMIF). This funding is part of the governments larger investment to help strengthen Ontario’s critical minerals supply chain, support innovation, and unlock new opportunities for economic growth across the province.

“Under the leadership of Premier Ford, our government is securing the critical minerals, supply chains, and investments needed to position Ontario as the most competitive jurisdiction in the G7 for critical mineral development,” said MPP Vic Fedeli. “This investment will ensure that critical minerals mined in Ontario are increasingly processed and refined in Ontario-by-Ontario workers, creating more value-added opportunities and building a stronger, more self-reliant economy.”

Today’s funding includes:

  • $500,000 to Drillco Mining and Exploration.
  • $247,263 to Osprey Advanced Materials Corporation.

“We are grateful to the Government of Ontario for its support through the Critical Minerals Innovation Fund,” said Alex Storcheus, CEO of Osprey Advanced Manufacturing Corporation. “This funding represents an important endorsement of the Titan VTM Project and its potential role in supporting Ontario’s critical minerals supply chain. Titan is located in Angus Township Ontario, benefits from an established exploration history, and contains minerals that are highly relevant to advanced materials, industrial applications and strategic supply chains. We look forward to advancing our metallurgical research with the support of this program.”

Following the release of Premier Ford’s Fortress North America Strategy that prioritizes reliable, democratic supply chains over foreign adversaries, the Ontario government is investing in 18 innovative projects through the CMIF. The CMIF is a key initiative in the government’s plan to update its Critical Minerals Strategy to position the province as a reliable global supplier of responsibly sourced critical minerals and build fully integrated, made-in-Ontario supply chains.
