$82,000 to Support Anti-Hate Security and Prevention in Nipissing

June 17, 2026

NIPISSING — Vic Fedeli, MPP for Nipissing announced that the Ontario government is investing $82,000 to support 11 diverse communities through the Anti-Hate Security and Prevention Grant. Today’s funding will help the supported organizations enhance safety and security measures.

“The Anti-Hate Security and Prevention Grant continues to support and protect communities impacted by hate incidents in Ontario,” said MPP Vic Fedeli. “We will continue making necessary investments to support our community and will continue to work across government to promote diversity in Nipissing.”

Local funding examples include:

  • $10,000 for OUTLoud North Bay.
  • $5,000 for The Muslim Society of North Bay.

“We are incredibly grateful to be a recipient of the Anti-Hate Security and Prevention Program. This funding will help OUTLoud North Bay strengthen our security infrastructure, including enhanced member access systems, to better protect our volunteers, youth, and families. In today’s rapidly evolving social and political climate, creating a space where everyone feels safe, supported, and welcome is now more important than ever. This investment helps ensure we can continue providing that sense of security and belonging for our community.” – Seth Compton, Executive Director of OUTLoud North Bay.

“We are very grateful for this support. The funding has enabled us to make important security improvements to our mosque, including upgrades to our security systems, repairs to windows and entry doors, and other measures to enhance the safety of our congregation and facility. These improvements help ensure that our members can gather for prayers, educational programs, and community events in a safe and welcoming environment. We would also like to express our sincere appreciation to MPP Vic Fedeli for his continued support of our community. Mr. Fedeli has consistently demonstrated a genuine interest in the well-being of local organizations and has been proactive in informing us of grant opportunities that help strengthen and improve our community facilities.” – Imam Ainul Ahmad, President of the Muslim Society of North Bay.

Protecting Ontario starts with keeping our communities safe and unified. That is why we are working directly with faith-based, cultural, and LGBTQ+ communities to combat hate and strengthen safety. We have allocated $58.5 million between 2023-2026 to the Anti-Hate Security and Prevention Grant to help address concerns related to hate crimes across Ontario while increasing safety and security at places of worship and cultural community spaces.
