Patty was born and raised in North Bay. She is an accomplished writer, with several hit plays to her credit.

Her first was Northern Overexposure, a lampoon of local politicians, which raised $30,000 for the Capitol Centre. She has written two hit musical comedies, Shadflies and Shotguns and Moon Rock, for the Nipissing Stage Company.

Her newest play, The Wrath of Grapes, is a murder mystery/comedy, also for Nipissing Stage. In addition, she wrote the beautiful Carousel Book for the Heritage Railway and Carousel group.
