Local Legislative Page Applications Sought
September 18, 2017QUEEN’S PARK – Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli is urging grade 7 and 8 students in Nipissing to consider taking part in the Ontario Legislative Page Program.
Students from across Ontario are selected each session to serve the Legislature, meet key parliamentary figures and learn about the legislative process. The program provides a unique educational experience for high-achieving, community-involved students.
Grade 7 and 8 students with a Level 4 grade average are encouraged to apply online via the Legislative Assembly website at www.ontla.on.ca.
For Grade 7 students, applications deadlines are November 15 and June 15. The deadline for students currently in Grade 8 is November 15.
“Several local students in our riding have taken part in this unique and prestigious program in recent years, and Sheldon Kilroy from Ecole Secondaire Algonquin has been selected to serve as a page next month. It’s my hope more local students will consider applying this time around,” said Fedeli.
Additional material which explains the program in more detail is also available at MPP Fedeli’s North Bay constituency office.
