Celebrating 100 Years of Women’s Right to Vote in Ontario

January 19, 2017

NORTH BAY – Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli is encouraging applications for a new Legislature Assembly of Ontario program celebrating the 100 year anniversary of women’s right to vote in Ontario.

In celebration of the anniversary, the Legislative Assembly of Ontario is inviting 107 young women, one from each riding, to assemble in Toronto on April 12th, 2017 at the provincial parliament to mark this significant occasion.

Young Ontario women aged 18 to 23 with an interest in civics and current affairs are encouraged to apply by February 28th, 2017.

Selected applicants will experience a one-day inspirational program; meet prominent Ontario women, Members of Provincial Parliament and key figures; gain a behind-the-scenes perspective of parliament and network with other like-minded young women from across Ontario.

“This is an excellent opportunity for a young woman from our community to be part of this monumental milestone in the history of our democracy.” Fedeli said.

For more information on how to make a submission and eligibility criteria, you can contact the North Bay constituency office at (705) 474-8340, or online, at www.ontla.on.ca.
