MODEL PARLIAMENT SEEKING STUDENTS
September 15, 2015QUEEN’S PARK – Once again this year, Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli is urging local high
school students to consider applying to participate in The Legislative Assembly of Ontario
three-day Model Parliament Program.
The program is for students in grades 10 to 12 and will be held at Queen’s Park
from February 24-26, 2016. Applications will be accepted up to October 30th.
This initiative offers civic-minded students representing all 107 provincial ridings including
Nipissing a unique opportunity to experience the Legislature first-hand.
In 2014, local students Anthony Caliciuri and Nicholas Waltenbury took part in the program.
“It’s a tremendous opportunity for any student to gain a greater understanding of the role and
duties of MPPs and how our parliamentary democracy functions in Ontario,” said Fedeli.
